This last weekend, May 31, 2014 Charles Cannon, LAc from Columbia River Acupuncture worked alongside the EMT tent treating athletes as they finished the first-ever, multi-disciplined relay event. Many athletes appreciated Charlie’s treatments, as he gave both acupuncture and massage to those with sore/tight and overworked bodies.
The event, which started atop Mt. Hood Meadows, had individuals and teams complete a series of transitions and stages including; downhill skiing/snowboarding, Nordic skiing, mtn. biking, road biking, running and ending with a kayak/SUP race to the finish at the Hood River Marina. Best times finished in just over 3 hours and competitors enjoyed a fun after party with music by Tony Smiley, beer by Full Sail, and food from volunteers at the Hood River Lions Club.
